OLAP Mode Constraints

An OLAP data source in Compyl has certain limitations that users should be aware of. These limitations affect the way OLAP data can be used and manipulated within the dashboard.

Supported Features

The following are features supported in OLAP Mode:

1. Dashboard Parameters

Dashboard Parameters can be used with the OLAP data source in code. For example, you can filter data by a dynamic dashboard parameter that utilizes an OLAP data source.

2. Complex Filter Conditions

In OLAP mode, filter expressions are restricted to specific logical operators and operands:

  • Attributes in the hierarchy can only be filtered using “and” and “or” criteria operators.
  • Separate dimension attributes and hierarchies can only be filtered using “and” criteria operators.

Unsupported Features

The following features are not supported when using an OLAP data source:

Supported OLAP Servers

Compyl supports the following OLAP servers:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services (requires SP4)
