Filter Data Sources
Introduction
The Compyl dashboard enables you to apply filters to various data sources, including Excel, Object, XPO, and JSON. When filters are applied, they influence all dashboard elements connected to the filtered data sources. Filter criteria are derived from the columns within the data source.
Adding Filters
1. Access the Data Sources Page
- Open Dashboard Menu: Navigate to the dashboard menu and select the Data Sources page.
- Select Data Source: Choose the data source you wish to filter.
2. Open the Filter Editor
- Apply Filter: Click on the "Filter" button to launch the Filter Editor dialog.
- Set Criteria: Define your filter criteria in the Filter Editor, using the columns of your selected data source.
Using Parameter Values for Filtering
Filter Based on Dashboard Parameters
You can configure the Filter Editor to filter a data source according to the current values of dashboard parameters. This approach allows for dynamic filtering that adapts to user inputs or other parameter changes.
By following these instructions, you can efficiently manage data source filters in Compyl, ensuring that your dashboard presents the most relevant data. For further information and assistance, consult the Help Center or reach out to Compyl customer support.
